Alex Favazza holds a PhD in Music Education from Florida State University (’18), an MM in Choral Conducting from the University of Southern Mississippi (’15), and a BME in Vocal Music Education from Middle Tennessee State University (’09).
Following the receiving of his undergraduate degree, Dr. Favazza taught public high school choir in Memphis, TN.
Dr. Favazza’s research interests include choral literature, Estonian folk-hymn variants and the work of composer Cyrillus Kreek as well as contemporary Estonian choral music.
Dr. Favazza is also an active composer. His choral works are published by Hinshaw Music and Colla Voce Music and have been performed by several all-state and regional honor choirs as well as collegiate, high school, community and church choirs throughout the United States.
This Fall 2018, Dr. Favazza will join the faculty at the University of New Hampshire as Director of Choral Activities.
